How can I migrate Alby Hub to a different machine?

You can migrate your Alby Hub to another instance and recover all your funds. This ensures you have full control and flexibility over your Hub. You can safely stop it and move your hub whenever you want, choosing any Alby Hub flavor.

Alby Hub is encrypted with the password you chose during setup. Only you can access and decrypt its contents, even if it is on the cloud. And only you can migrate your Alby Hub.

Migration

1. Get your Alby Hub vital data

To migrate your Alby Hub, you'll need your Unlock Password, 12-word Key backup, and Node Backup file. Please ensure you have backups of these three vital pieces of data.

You will find all the vital data for the migration on your Alby Hub "Settings" section.

Warning: We are currently improving the migration procedure. Please, reach out to [e-mail] before creating a node backup file. We'll help you creating the backup file and assist you in the migration.

During the migration, do not turn on your original Alby Hub instance. Since your Node will be offline, you won't be able to send or receive bitcoin during this process.

2. Choose your new home for your Alby Hub

Pick the Flavor of Alby Hub that fits your needs, launch that instance and then on the first loading screen, get ready to enter your original Alby Hub vital data

Once your new Alby Hub instance is launched, click on "Advanced Setup", then select "Import Wallet with Backup File". Enter your Unlock Password, upload your Node Backup file, and click on "Import Wallet" to begin the migration.
