Why is there a minimum balance required?

Transactions over bitcoin lightning network require a transaction fee which is paid by the sender of the payment. .

Due to the transaction fees being unknown before making a payment we keep a fee reserve as a minimum balance for your account. The minimum balance is the bigger amount of 0.1% of the transaction amount or 10 sats.
