Alby Hub provides you various ways to top up your savings and spending balance.

Top up savings balance

Topping up your savings balance is convenient. You can:

Buy bitcoin credited to your savings balance
Deposit bitcoin from a another bitcoin wallet

Buy bitcoin credited to your savings balance

1. Navigate to the "Node" page and click on "Buy"

2. Enter amount and currency and click on "Next"

3. You are forwarded to your Alby dashboard to finish the purchase via MoonPay

The entered amount and the bitcoin address from your bitcoin savings wallet are automatically provided as input. Follow the instructions from MoonPay and you'll receive your BTC purchase after one block confirmation (~10 min.) in the savings balance of your Hub.

Deposit a payment from a another bitcoin wallet

1. Navigate to the "Node" page and click on "Deposit"

2. Copy the bitcoin address ("bc1...") or scan the QR code to deposit bitcoin from another bitcoin wallet or exchange of your choice.

3. After one block confirmation (~10 min.) the deposited funds appear in your savings balance. ✨

To make the funds ready for lightning fast payments you’ll need to transfer them to your spending balance. 👇

📤Top up Spending Balance

Top up spending balance

Topping up your spending balance is convenient. You can:

Buy bitcoin credited to your spending balance directly
Request a payment from a another bitcoin lightning wallet

Note: Topping up your spending balance is only possible to the amount of your "Receiving Capacity" (s. "Liquidity" page). If you don't have free or only little "Receiving Capacity", read on here on how to increase it.

Buy bitcoin directly credited to your spending balance

1. Make sure your Hub is linked to your Alby Account

1. Navigate to the "Node" page and click on "Top Up"

2. Click on "Buy Bitcoin". Choose SEPA bank transfer, SWIFT bank transfer, or credit card.

Buy bitcoin and have it directly credited to your spending balance currently works if you configured EUR, CHF or GBP as your default currency in the "Settings" of your Alby dashboard on getalby.com.

3. After choosing SEPA or SWIFT, you are given the transfer IBAN or forwarded to Mt Pelerin.

SEPA: Transfers from your bank account to the mentioned account on your screen will be converted to Bitcoin and transferred to your wallet. Depending on your bank the transfer might take 1-2 working days. You must transfer from your IBAN account and with the reference mentioned.

We partnered with Pocket Bitcoin to provide you with a convenient method to top up your spending balance. If you send money via Instant SEPA your bitcoins appear only a few minutes later in your spending balance. (Banking hours apply)
