How to use your lightning address as identifier on Nostr

You can now use your Alby lightning address as your identity on Nostr. Everyone on Nostr can find you based on your Alby lightning address.

Nostr is an open protocol with the goal to create a censorship-resistant global "social" network. It doesn't rely on any trusted central server and is based on cryptographic keys and signatures. Using your Alby lightning address follows the NIP-05 guidance.

To connect your lightning address to your Nostr profile you have to add your Nostr public key to Alby.

Step 1: Go to https://getalby.com/settings and click on 'Profile settings'

Step 2: Add your Nostr public key

Option 1: Click on 'Load public key from extension' if you added your Nostr private to the Alby Browser Extension. Check here how to do it.

Option 2: Manually insert your Nostr public key.

Step 3: Click on 'Update your Nostr public key'

You are done!
