Alby Hub is in alpha stage and improving quickly. While you can create a backup of your bitcoin wallet, we currently do not support channel backups yet. However, if you open a channel to one of the suggested channel partners we can ask them to close the channel for you.

Are you ready to set up your own Alby Hub yourself from scratch?

1️⃣ Send us your Alby lighting address or registered email address to get whitelisted

2️⃣ In your Alby Account dashboard navigate to Settings and select ‘Wallet Configuration’

3️⃣ Click ‘Launch a new Alby Hub’ but make sure to study the terms of service first.

• It takes a few seconds to boot up Alby Hub with your own lightning node

4️⃣ Go through the screens and define your password to lock and unlock Alby Hub

That’s it. Your own lightning node is ready. 😊

Now you only need to top up the balance, open one payment channel to be connected to the bitcoin lightning network and store a backup of your wallet offline.
