  1. FAQ

What happens if the healthcheck indicator turns red?

The healthcheck indicator (the small green or red dot on the top left of your hub) quickly lets you know if your hub is fully operational.

Was this helpful?

In this screenshot the dot is green and "Alby Hub is running":

Alby Hub requires a few core systems running to ensure you can make and receive payments. If any of these services are offline, you will be notified instantly by the healthcheck icon turning red. Clicking on the red dot will take you to the node page where you can learn more details. Here is an example when the dot is red and there is a particular service offline:

One or More Alby Systems offline

If you see any systems offline, we know there's an issue and we're actively working on a solution. You can check the latest status updates at and we normally will post on the Alby Discord with updates too.

Relay Offline 🧑‍🔧

Alby provides a high quality relay service with a high level of uptime. If your hub is not connected to the relay, please double check the internet connection on the device your hub is running on.

Offline Channels 🧑‍🔧

Your counterparty can always go temporarily offline. In case you need more reliability, we recommend opening a second channel with another counterparty.

Node Not Ready 🧑‍🔧

This only applies to self-hosted Alby Hub runners who connect to LND (e.g. Umbrel or Start9). Please make sure your LND app is running and is up to date.

Thanks. We appreciate that you went through the first steps yourself. 💛
