Why is there a minimum balance required?

Transactions over Bitcoin's Lightning Network require a transaction fee paid by the sender of the payment.

Transaction fees are unknown before making a payment, thus we keep a fee reserve as a minimum balance for your account. That fee reserve equals 1% of the transaction amount or 10 sats - whichever amount is bigger.

If you face problems sending sats from your Alby Account, please try sending them in smaller amounts and remember about transaction limits.
