# 3. What is Value 4 Value?

* "[Value 4 Value](https://value4value.info/)" (V4V) is a philosophy that redefines how digital content is monetized. It challenges the common ad-based model and promotes a new approach based on freedom, openness, and fairness. V4V encourages creators to include their audience in content creation, fostering engagement. It's not just about making money; it's a mindset shift from scarcity to abundance, recognizing the unique nature of digital value. The philosophy utilizes technologies like Bitcoin and the Lightning Network for efficient micropayments. In essence, V4V offers a solution to the challenges of selling digital information, emphasizing a more inclusive and value-driven digital economy.
* The idea is that if consumers find value in the content, they can reciprocate that value by sending cryptocurrency directly to the creator. This cuts out intermediaries and gives creators more direct support from their audience. It's essentially a voluntary and direct form of microtransactions, enabled by cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and others.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://guides.getalby.com/creators/value-4-value-peertube-guide/value-4-value-peertube-guide/3.-what-is-value-4-value.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
